In 2003, we were the first to announce Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) over 100 km of fibre. By 2008, we had collaborated in the first QKD network in Europe as a core partner of the EU-funded SECOQC project in Vienna.<\/p><p>Since then, we have continued to advance quantum communications technologies, increasing the range and secure key rates of our systems, enabling coexistence on existing fibre infrastructure and supporting increasingly complex network architectures. The deployment allows industrial organizations to securely transmit corporate IPR and other sensitive information between the facilities, instead of having to rely on transportation via physical portable storage devices.<\/p><p>We launched London\u2019s first Secure Metro Network with BT in 2022.
