📈 Quantum computing is increasingly being viewed as a near‑term driver of business value.

New research from Censuswide found that 41% of large UK enterprises expect quantum computing to deliver more than £100 million in value within a year. Many organisations are already moving beyond research and experimentation into pilot projects and early deployments.

The first use cases are emerging in areas such as optimisation, improving AI performance and managing resources more efficiently.

The findings suggest businesses are increasingly viewing quantum not as a future technology, but as something that is starting to deliver practical benefits much sooner than many expected.

📊 Quantum computing is now beginning to shape how complex financial decisions are made.
 
A new collaboration between SMBC Group and Toshiba is using quantum‑driven technology to develop equity indices for Japanese and U.S. markets, applying advanced optimisation to portfolio construction.
 
By using Toshiba’s Simulated Bifurcation Machine, the indices can select and weight stocks based on factors such as volatility and low correlation, helping to build more diversified portfolios that are difficult to achieve with conventional approaches.
 
It’s an early but tangible example of how quantum and quantum driven techniques are being applied to real‑world systems.
