QSN Multiplexer
Easily deploy QKD over existing fibre networks
Deploying quantum-safe networking should not require operators to redesign their optical networks or deploy costly dedicated dark fibre. Toshiba QSN Multiplexer enables quantum and classical data traffic to coexist over deployed fibre infrastructure.
Quantum and classical traffic on shared fibre
The QSN multiplexer combines the quantum channel, QKD service channels and third-party DWDM data traffic onto shared fibre, supporting multiple DWDM channels with combined launch powers up to +20 dBm.
Improve deployment economics
By reusing existing fibre assets, operators avoid escalating OPEX and CAPEX. Support for single and two-fibre deployment options provides further flexibility as quantum-safe networks expand across access, long-haul and metro networks.
Highlights
Features & Benefits
Deploy across the existing fibre estate
Minimise CAPEX and OPEX and deployment delays by deploying QKD over existing lit fibre. O-band coexistence helps operators reduce additional infrastructure requirements.
High-throughput coexistence
A wide optical passband supports data traffic across the S, C and L bands, with capacity for multiple DWDM channels with aggregate launch powers up to +20 dBm alongside the quantum channel.
Ensure quantum integrity
Passive, low loss optical design isolates the quantum channel from classical traffic. Low O-band insertion loss below 2.5 dB helps preserve system performance.
Adaptable to any network
Single and two-fibre deployment options, A compact 1U, high density front-mounted design.
